TMS recently had the opportunity to interview seasoned technology investor Bobby Yazdani, founder and managing partner at Cota Capital. Bobby is a globally renowned investor and technology operator who has been investing in enterprise technology with a track record of 40+ years and 200+ private companies.

His network of deal sourcing & advisory is incredibly deep and has been built through decades of experience with universities (Berkeley, UCLA, Stanford, CalTech) and early investing with and investments in industry leaders (Sequoia, Salesforce, Oracle, Google, Microsoft etc).

Bobby was at Oracle from early 80’s to early 90’s where he saw the emergence of the internet. He was an insider at that time and saw this paradigm shift before most other people and took advantage by established his own company, SABA Software, leveraging the internet.

He listed SABA 4 years later and used his newly created wealth to start formally investing in a portfolio of new technologies when he saw new super cycles. The insights he gets from his unique position in the industry have contributed to his successful track record of early investments in some of the largest tech companies we know today.
